About the Image(s)
I took this photograph on March 2nd, 2025 at the local nature center on the Chattahoochee river. The Great Blue Heron's (GBH) have a few nests up on the pine trees. In the nest building process the male GBH brings tree limbs from near by trees. He then hands off the limb to the female who will weave it into place to form a platform with a cup shaped nest. I took several images of the male flying in with the limb and of the hand off process but this was my favorite. I have included another image where the male is just about to land into the tree. For this final version I cropped the original and made some minor adjustments to the shadows and highlights. Although there was no noise in the image I passed it through Topaz Denoise to sharpen it.
