About the Image(s)
The image was taken at the Herriman, Utah rodeo in May 2024. It was shot with a Sony A6400 with the following settings: ISO 800, F6.3 at 1/400 of a second. I used a 70-350mm lens at 350. Post processing was done in ACR and Photoshop, mostly to crop and color correct. Your comments and feedback are welcome.

Hi Greg, well captured action scene with the depth of field working extremely well in this.
The viewer is immediately drawn to the wranglers face which shows the intent and effort he is putting in. Spot-on moment of capture with the color and contrast in the wrangler and the beast handled extremely well.
I would be pleased to have this in my portfolio, well captured   Posted: 11/08/2024 05:55:20

Hi Greg - What a perfect vantage point you had with the action coming straight on and the background being void of distraction! This image tells a good story with strong impact. You've captured both cowboy and steer doing their best. The image is tact sharp where it needs to be, capturing full expressions from the cowboy's face to the steer's tail. It is also blurred in all the right places - with boots and dirt flying. Technically hits all the marks. Love it!   Posted: 11/12/2024 04:56:35

Hi Greg. This is a GREAT image and the moment you have captured is perfect. The diagonal and S curve created by the cowboy and steer is very effective and I love the fact that you've captured the cowboy mid air. My only picky suggestion would be to make the fence post in the upper left corner a straight vertical. The fact that it's slightly slanted gives it more attention than it deserves. :)   Posted: 11/19/2024 18:08:30

Hi Greg,
My first thought was "Wow!" My second thought was "Owww."
Excellent shot to get that expression and capture him in mid-air to boot!
Great job!

Hi Greg,
I agree that this is a well captured image. I like that with 1/400 there is some movement to the cowboys feet to show just how strong that bull is. Great action shot. Looks like you did a nice job with the initial exposure and then colors for an indoor ring.   Posted: 11/21/2024 13:03:43

Hi Erin,
Thanks for your feedback and comments. This was actually shot outdoor rodeo. The natural lighting was pretty good until the sun went down. The stadium lights were awful. It was a fun event to capture.
