August 2026 - Early Stage Palisades Peach

The western slope of Colorado has an agricultural community called Palisades well known for their peaches. When we lived in the area, it was a habit of ours to venture to local peach orchards every other week or so beginning in July to sample different peach varieties as they became available. The idea was to find what we thought was the best peach variety. As you might imagine, locals seems to have varying opinions on which peach is "best" and we were far from alone in our quest.
Most peaches produced in the United States are grown in California, followed by South Carolina and then Georgia. However, eating those grown and distributed locally makes the most sense, as peaches don't travel all that well. In case you were wondering, the best peach is the one eaten the day it is harvested . . . and the best Palisade variety is Red Haven.
In post, not much was required - I added a vignette, cropped to improve upon the composition, and eliminated some distractions.

Really nice shot - those three berries make such a strong little triangle, and it gives the whole image a solid focal point. The depth of field you picked suits it perfectly.
For me, the sharp top leaves look great, but the lower leaf pulls my eye a bit. Maybe softening it with a gentle blur from the bottom of the leaves up would take some of that attention away without changing the feel of the image.

I love it - and I LOVE peaches. We pick them here in VA, and I totally agree - the best peach is the one just picked!
This has such a strong composition and lovely colors. I would not change a thing.

Greetings my friend. Apologies for the late feedback this edition. You have shared an wonderful image this time. I liek the way you have captured the peaches with the apprpriate blurry background for this image. The main subject stood out but it doesnt feel like its over done. Seems just a ballanced image in colors pallette.
