About the Image(s)
Recent outing with Photographic friends, (way too early) chasing sun rise shots, to one of our beaches on Sydney coast, Curl Curl. Most of our beaches have these rock pools with heavy surf cleaning out and refreshing the water. Provides a place for early morning swimmers and a safer place for families with young kids visiting the beach.
This shot 10 second exposure, F11 with ISO 200. Attempting soft water and nice light, processed extensively in Photoshop.
Thanks for viewing and comments.

Hi Tom,
You crafted a serene fine art image. I have seen other images of this beach with massive waves. To tame the waves with a long exposure and craft the lighting and tone make a lovely image. I hope you have wall space to hang this one.
Best regards,

Hi Tom,
Greetings my friend.
A lovely capture with surreal lighting and colors. The reddish sunlight is just showing up on the horizon and the mist on the pooljust added to the scene. Well seen and thank you for sharing.
Cheers.

Hi Tom - Rising way too early seems an okay trade off since you've gotten some pretty remarkable images that way. This one is no exception. I am drawn to the beautiful layers and colors of the sky and in your processing creating the misty water. The man-made materials add an unique dimension as well although I would prefer that that feature wasn't cutting through the middle of the image. Perhaps removing some of that sandy beach from the bottom creating a 2:1 ratio in a more panoramic profile is a possible resolution. It's a lovely image - nice work!   Posted: 04/16/2026 05:10:12
Hi Tom. The long exposure really created the perfect atmosphere for this image, and the colors are unique and intriguing. I agree with Darcy about the stark line of the structure being in the exact middle of the frame, and I think a panoramic aspect ratio could be very effective. But overall, this is a very successful image and well worth an early rise.   Posted: 04/17/2026 21:30:29
