About the Image(s)
This image was taken in November, with my Sony RX10iv from the parking lot at the Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave Site, which is about 15 miles from my home in Colorado. I did very little in post, other than adjusting contrast, reducing highlights in the sky, removing some imperfections, and some light spots along the edges. I was amazed at the vastness of the open mountain country visible from that vantage point. I'm tempted to go back in every season to capture the view progression from there.

Hi Ingrid,
Happy Holidays!
What a lovely image. Very Ansel Adams. I like the composition and the layering throughout the image. Re-visiting this site during different seasons should be fun. It may be interesting to see how this looks in B&W.
Best regards,

Hi Ingrid,
Very nice image! I particularly like the foreground tree anchoring the composition-it's a strong choice. The mountains, however, appear a bit flat on my screen. As an experiment, try darkening the shadows in the mountains a bit more to add depth and definition. Hope you dont mind I had a play with your image as a suggestion, attached
One small point: the red and white cars on the road catch my eye repeatedly. I suggest removing them to keep the focus on the natural elements.
Overall, great work! and wishing you and you close ones a Merry Christmas festive season.   Posted: 12/12/2025 02:07:36

Increasing the contrast in the land mass definitely improves the image. Thanks!   Posted: 12/14/2025 23:09:45
Hi Ingrid - What a beautiful landscape! In all the years I have lived in Colorado and passed this historical site, I've never stopped. I'll have to take a little more time and make the effort given this view! Tom's upping the contrast does make a difference. Love your composition! I think if you just dull down the color of that red car a tad, it won't distract from the bigger picture. The cars do tell a story and definitely shows off the scale of those mountains. Merry Christmas!   Posted: 12/17/2025 05:55:29
