Hi Greg. Startling image, colours of the iguana stand out well from the background. Details are also handled extremely well, and I love the detail of the eye drawing the viewer in.   Posted: 07/11/2025 00:53:52

Hi Tom,
Thanks for your comments and feedback. There wasn't a lot of work with this one. This guy was sunbathing in the tree and just stayed there and posed.
Best regards,

Hi Greg - The contrast in colors make this image. The depth and separation of the background from the main subject is well done. The image is tack sharp, nicely composed and you've captured the iguana in a brilliant pose. No suggestions - impressive capture!

Question - How far were you away from your subject and what lens did you use? Thanks -   Posted: 07/17/2025 05:46:28

What a great capture! I would love to have seen him.
I have a couple of suggestions to try:
1. Try cropping in from the left to eliminate the group of tall leaves and throw him a bit off-center.
2. Clone out the one little green vine on his foot.
Minor details for sure on a wonderful image.

Whoa, Greg - that is one handsome devil! I love the textures and color of this guy and how well he is set off by the rich green surroundings. The diagonal composition is very effective, and your focus is amazing. My only suggestion would be to try to increase the contrast around his eye and face to more closely match the intensity of his body. I would also probably clone out the little spot of light blue sky above his eye and replace it with the green around it. This is a wonderful capture and you have handled it very well.   Posted: 07/19/2025 22:52:33

Hi Greg - Great colors and focus on this one. I would agree to crop a little closer - since his tail disappears into the green foliage I would crop a little tighter from the bottom left and either clone out or crop out the two larger leaves. What a great sight to see!   Posted: 07/21/2025 14:56:44

Hi Erin,
Thanks for your comments and suggestions. This was taken from a small boat on the way to some Mayan Ruins, and I felt like Indiana Jones when we spotted this guy posing for us.

Hi Darcy,
Thanks for your comments and feedback. In regards to distance and lens, we were in a boat and maybe 20 feet from the base of the tree. I had a 70-350 lens mounted on a cropped sensor Sony A6400. I was at 350 on the lens and with a 1.5 crop factor had the equivalent of a 525mm lens.
Best regards,
