About the Image(s)
This gazebo was built by the Works Progress Administration (WPA) in the 1930s. It was moved to Aspen Colorado's Paepcke Park in 1954. The gazebo's setting provides a view of the ski slopes of Aspen Mountain in the background. This image was taken on a fall morning. The trees had lost their leaves on the ski slopes but were just moving toward peak color in town. ISO 200, 18mm, f4.3, 1/320 sec.

Hi Darcy,
A very nicely composed image. The side light and color palette work well.
Best regards,

Hi Darcy. I really like this image and the way you've created the composition with the gazebo set against the trees and the hill. I love the intimate feeling created by the placement of the gazebo and the fact that the sky isn't in the frame. My only suggestion would be to clone out the very bright spots on the right lower edge because they draw too much attention away from the main subject.   Posted: 04/12/2025 21:17:30
What a lovely shot! I love how the undulating hills invite your eye to travel up the mountain.
I wouldn't change a thing! Thanks for sharing.

Hi Darcy, Nice composition letting the viewer settle on the main subject, then allowing the viewer to explore the slopes leading upward. I agree with Ingrid that the bright spot needs to be removed. I think the main subject needs to be featured a bit more, perhaps the gazebo a bit brighter, not much, or the background toned down a fraction.   Posted: 04/18/2025 05:32:01
