About the Image(s)
Caye Caulker is a small island off the coast of Belize. It has no paved roads, and the modes of transportation were foot, bike, or golf cart. Collage #1 is my attempt to show the viewer my first impressions of Caye Caulker. I found the people of Belize and Caye Caulker to be polite, engaging, and genuinely friendly. There were also colorful signs all over the island. The island was very laid back and had a motto "Go Slow".
Images were taken with a Sony A6400 and an 18-105mm lens. Your comments and feedback are appreciated.

Hi Greg, a very colourful place. Your collage acts as a very nice travel log of your journey, all images stand as excellent on their own and present as a point of interest for the viewer to explore.
For me the top line, centre image seem a bit lost in the other more vibrant images, perhaps a different image might strengthen the set.
Looks like you had a great visit.

HI Greg -
Looks like a great place to visit. The colors are vibrant and the captures show that it definitely appears to be a fun place to visit. I echo Tom's comments that the top center either needs more contrast or swapped out for another image as the sign gets lost in the background.   Posted: 02/13/2025 02:00:56

Hi Erin,
Thanks for your comments and feedback. Six months prior to the trip I couldn't pick out Belize on a map or had any idea about Caye Caulker. I was there for a photo workshop. The workshop went south, so I gave myself some image goals and came back with over 3000 images. The Island had a motto "Go Slow", and the gentleman middle left (Jacob) was my attempt to capture an Ernest Hemmingway image of the "Old Man and The Sea". It was a very memorable trip.

Hi Greg!
I am green with envy - on the trip AND your photos!
I have a simple suggestion on your layout. Try swapping the top middle and top right photos. That would put your three "signs" in a sort of triangle with the street scene in the middle. That might make it look more cohesive with the rest of the layout.
Beautiful, colorful collage. Thanks for the warm, beach images on the cold, winter evening!

Hi Greg - your concept of a collage is an excellent way to give a feeling for this colorful island, and each image is interesting on it's own as well. I agree that the only weak link is the upper middle photo, although an increase in clarity, vibrance and contrast might give it the punch it needs. My only other suggestion would be to try colors other than gray for the background grid - maybe a yellow/orange or turquoise. You may decide that gray is the best, but a brighter color might emphasize the joyful feeling of the island.   Posted: 02/20/2025 20:07:00
Hi Greg - What a fun trip . . . sun, sand, water and some good food and fishing, what a great combination for slowing down and relaxing. Your collage certainly exudes this feeling! I don't have anything to add to the above discussion. Great colors. A collage is a perfect way to summarize 3,000 workshop images. Nice job ~   Posted: 02/23/2025 04:50:24
