About the Image(s)

This image was taken on 23 October 2024, when I was flying from Male to Singapore as a passenger by the window of a scheduled flight of Singapore Airlines. It was 42000 feet at night and I was watching the clear night sky by the window; and we were approaching the islands of Malaysia at that altitude. What a mesmerizing beautiful clear night sky. I was tempted with my Samsung S 23 Ultra mobile camera for a few shots. The mobile camera was set at night mode.

This mobile camera is very effective to use in different situations & environments. After the image is created it was post processed by Photoshop CS6 with some cropping, cloning & light adjustment to present as it was.

I hope you enjoy the image and any feedback is welcome.

Hi Kamal, extremely will captured image. I do like the window seat when I'm flying particularly when flying over cities at night to get vistas like this. I think the red from the navigation light reflecting on the wing really makes this image, it adds a magnificent highlight to the rest of the mono scene. Capturing of the stars also quite an achievement. The smog is a slight distraction, I might try to turn that down, although I don't know how I would do that without ruining other parts of the image. Well seen captured and handled in post. Thanks for sharing   Posted: 11/08/2024 06:10:57

Hi Kamal. This is a very impactful image and the sharpness throughout is impressive. I agree that the light bathing the wing in a rich red makes the image really special, and the stars are an added bonus. Your decision to crop out the band of lights in the lower left of the original really helped the image as well. Thanks for sharing!   Posted: 11/19/2024 18:31:28

Hi Kamal,

Great shot. I love that red glow as others have observed. I was also impressed at how you captured the curvature of the earth from that vantage point.

Well done!
