About the Image(s)
This month's image taken recently on an outing with my Camera Club friends. Our outing was to Sydney Botanical Gardens, with early spring season over here, the gardens were in full display and looked spectacular.
This image was from the cactus garden section, the flower being a prickly pear (I believe).
Settings F 4.5, 1/4000 second ISO 64. Lens 105 mm.
Photoshop work included softening the image and playing with the blur, original included.
Thanks for viewing and your comments.

Hi Tom - You turned an ordinary flower into something special. As usual, your work in post, makes this image - the flower glows without losing that translucent quality you see in the original. I really like the darkened and softened edges as well as further darkening of the background. Creates a fine arts feel. Good job!   Posted: 11/12/2024 05:10:57

Hi Tom,
Greetings my friend.
I love the way you have transformed the flower in to a surreal abstract subject. An amazing perception to create and present. Thank you for sharing.
Cheers,
Kamal.   Posted: 11/19/2024 07:38:39

Hi Tom. I love the work you have done in postprocessing. The glow is amazing and I think the continuation of the orange glow below the flower towards the right lower corner is very effective in anchoring the flower in the frame. The sharpness of the stamin is a wonderful complement to the blurring effect that you have added.   Posted: 11/19/2024 18:13:28

Hi Tom,
Interesting image. I'm not too keen on the orange effect. My devil's advocate position is that I really like the original better.
Sorry for the brutal honesty!
