Sony A7-IV with FE70-200 GM-II lens. 200mm, 1/640sec, f/2,8, ISO 125.
A little cropping to remove distractions and center the subject. Slightly down in exposure and some adjustment to the highlights but nothing too dramatic.

Lotus are one of my favorite subjects, I love the look of this, with its many petals and blurred surroundings. I like the suggestion of other blooms in the background, but would darken or remove the light area near the top right of the image.   Posted: 10/04/2026 18:05:38
Thanks, Barbara. I'll play with it a bit.   Posted: 10/05/2026 00:33:20
Captivating image with the tender rendering of the petals from below. I love the transparency and delicate focus on the rims of the petals, just the right amount bokeh. I also think the bright spot on top could be darkened. Maybe a vignette or further enhancing the brightness of semicircle of petals in focus? But the image is impressive as is already.   Posted: 10/06/2026 14:12:48

Interesting approach to capture from below. I've tried to do this with mushrooms too, as there is so much structure underneath. I like the darker, graduation of green at the bottom but feel that the top is too bright, especially the white area, middle top.   Posted: 10/07/2026 14:43:48
