A great, candid and definitely fits the subject for this month.

Street/Photo Journalism is tough. Personally, I struggle with the genre even though I love it. You have no control over your scene yet you have to quickly choose your parameters. Well done. Good shutter speed and depth of field. One thing I've learned is to leave room about your subject for post-processing crop. Gives you options. As Steven mentions, the green "street furniture" doesn't add much but cropping it out would make the scene feel too close. Having a bit more room might have let it contribute to the scene.
I like that you took the contrast assignment in a slightly different direction -subject rather than image. Well done. Lots of contrasts here. Boy/girl, teenager/adolescent, he's looking at his phone, the appears to be reading a book. It just goes on.
