Falling by Steven Wharram, LRPS

November 2025 - Falling

About the Image(s)

This was actually taken on the 6TH November 2025, the day that Tim sent his reminder. I had been mooching around a cemetery trying to capture the autumnal leaves against the headstones etc. I opted for this in the end, as I liked the tree, in its autumn colours, with its falling leaves.

What I did:
As usual, I've kept any manipulation to a minimum

The leaves colour make the image show colour in what could be a dull illustration and us to remember those who have died etc and pray.   Posted: 11/09/2025 15:19:23

At first I thought the image was off kilter but then the title clued me in. You really get the sense of falling or toppling over. Well done.   Posted: 11/10/2025 13:00:08

The falling title mainly relates to the falling leaves and the connection to the fallen, that is, the dead.
The graves are built on a mound or, at least, the ground has raised and moved here thus giving the stones an uneven look.   Posted: 11/12/2025 14:41:26

The tree on the left, with its golden leaves scattered on the ground, make the image so effective. It adds good contrast to the greys and dark greens in the rest of the image. A good find!   Posted: 11/17/2025 22:08:00
