Along The Dog Fence by Wendy Stanford

March 2025 - Along The Dog Fence

About the Image(s)

This is a maintenance road along the dog fence that stretches over 5,300 kms across 3 states of Australia, protecting sheep from the Australian Wild Dog called a Dingo. started in 1880 and finished in 1885, longest fence in the world,

Have to feel a little for the maintenance people. not a lot of processing.

The colours of the image make it come alive and makes me love seeing the emptiness of the RURAL life but then again I do live just across the road from one Hamilton's ETs.   Posted: 03/08/2025 06:19:21

Great color contrast between the sky and the road and earth. I love the way that the road and surrounding ground are the same color, and the leading lines that take us right through the image.   Posted: 03/08/2025 12:56:15

Wow, that's quite a road. I like the fact that the road doesn't rigidly follow the fence as in the distance, the road twists but the fence keeps keeps travelling in a pretty straight line. As you say, that must be quite a maintenance job, driving along and stopping to repair as required.   Posted: 03/10/2025 08:06:08

The most intereting point to me is the uncleared roadway, however, it is a roadway !!   Posted: 03/29/2025 08:50:16

Sorry for the late comments.
It's a nice photo. I liked the fence and road that brought me to the end (not sure). '5,300 kms across 3 states of Australia ....' took 5 years to finished and it's the long fence in the world. Amazing. Thank you for sharing.   Posted: 03/29/2025 10:00:27
