About the Image(s)

This image was taken during autumn in The Flinders Ranges in South Australia. It is a beautiful, colourful area of genuine Australian outback which offers many and varied photographic opportunities and has been a favourite part of this country for me since childhood.
I accompanied a dozen others for a photography workshop to practice and learn, especially about landscape photography.
This image was taken mid morning using the panorama technique of several photos left to right and then combining them in Lightroom. After combination, I cropped some of the width out so as to highlight what had caught my eye about the scene before me - the blue sky and clouds, the purple-orange mountain ranges in the background, the leading line of the path and grey foliage in the foreground and the green trees mid-ground.
I am interested in what you think would make it better.

Fujifilm X-T4, 10-24mm lens @11.5mm, ISO 160, f11, 1/140 ss
Combined three images using panorama in Lightroom, light editing including cropping, and colour enhancement."

This is three images ? Wow ! I've never done that. I think you captured the mountains really well. They are lovely.
I think the image would look better if you would crop off quite a lot from the bottom and also some of the sky -- really make it more panoramic. I don't think the pathway and grasses really add much. I would increase contrast a bit.
Here's what I had in mind: But it's all your decision! Just offering some ideas.   Posted: 07/11/2024 17:26:26

Thanks for your suggestons Donna. I always find it interesting how others see an image and often ask myself "why didn't I think of that?"   Posted: 07/12/2024 05:57:53

Meredith, I love landscapes and this is a fantastic pano. I might crop a little of the bottom of the image and tighter the sky. Really nice image.   Posted: 07/11/2024 17:43:42

Great image of Australia. The foreground is sharp as is the background. I like to colors of the mountains in the background.   Posted: 07/19/2024 19:55:28

Very nice image. I would not crop too much from the sky. The sky does seem unnaturally blue -- just take down the saturation a bit. Also, I think the landscape could pop just a bit more.   Posted: 07/23/2024 00:44:32

Yes, I was wondering also if the sky was a bit too blue. Good idea.   Posted: 07/23/2024 22:29:23

This scenic has all the needed elements: a trail as leading line, plus foreground, mid-ground, background mountains and intricate clouds. I agree that the sky is too intensely blue, especially at top center. This image looks surprisingly similar to semidesert areas I have visited in the American West, especially Utah!   Posted: 07/23/2024 22:52:51
