About the Image(s)
Shot hand held (tripods not allowed) in a conservatory at Brookside Gardens in Wheaton, MD, 100 sec at f/11, ISO 1250, with an Olympus OM1, with an Olympus 90mm Macro lens. I was surprised at how well the software -- Topaz AI + Photoshop did in sharpening it.

I'm amazed at the clarity of this image Doug which goes to show that software can really bring out the best in an image.
Your background colours are interesting and whilst some may prefer one single colour rather than the orange, yellow and green that you have, for me it adds an unexpected and positive dimension to the lavender foliage in the foreground.   Posted: 11/12/2025 00:47:56

Humm. I know a Doug W . from another DD :) This is a beautiful image Doug and with excellent sharpness and composition. I do wonder if the Yellow flower in the background is just a tad over saturated but this is very well done.   Posted: 11/15/2025 01:11:21
I love the detail in this image, and how close you got to the bloom. It's quite lovely. I do think that if you toned down the background, the eye would be even more drawn to look at the flower. Amazing that you did so well without a tripod, and I'm wondering if you had upped the ISO and shot at a faster shutter speed, your original might have been sharper. Nevertheless, it's in great focus !!   Posted: 11/17/2025 10:03:04
Doug, nice crisp, clear and sharp image. The detail is amazing. The orange might not be my choice but it works.   Posted: 11/19/2025 14:00:06
