I was attracted to the strange shape of this sunflower. Shot with a Canon R6 Mark II, RF 100 Canon lens, 18/sec at f/ 8.0, stacked in camera from 27 images, processed in Helicon.

Wow, I really like this !! Great exposure and composition, and I love the textures of the petals. I think you picked a good subject !
The only suggestion I could make is to crop up further from the bottom because the leaf is leaving you either wanting less or more of it. Other than that, great shot !

Gorgeous Doug. Such rich colour and a perfect black background with which to contrast it.

This is a creative departure from the usual sunflower shot and well-done! All elements stand out sharp and vivid against the black background. However, I agree that the leaf distracts from the flower. As it is against a black background, it should be possible to clone it out.   Posted: 07/25/2025 21:12:30
