About the Image(s)
How I Did It -
On New year's Day, I visited Longwood Gardens to see their Christmas Show. A vivid cloudless sunset made a spectacular backdrop for the illuminated trees. I photographed this image handheld with my D750 Nikon plus 24-120mm Nikon lens at 70mm, f/5.0, 1/160 sec, IOS800 and 2 stops under metered exposure. In Lightroom, I adjusted Exposure, Highlights, Clarity and Vibrance. In Photoshop, I cloned out distracting details, cropped and sharpened the image.
Take care,

Mark, Longwood is a magical place during the holidays and your image captured the magic. The sunset accents the tree beautifully and the crispness of the lights on the tree is amazing as the lights are very bright. Nice capture.   Posted: 01/15/2025 03:27:34

I always enjoy an illuminated tree or three and Christmas brings them out in spades.
Because the lit part of the tree takes the viewer's attention, the slightly messy background becomes insignificant, except for the sky colour of course.
This is a lovely capture with its background enhancing the tree as the star of the show.

HI Mark,
I envy your proximity to Longwood Gardens. This is a lovely picture that really makes me want to go there.
I wondered if it would look a bit better if you eliminated some of the light posts that are at bottom background, so I did a quick edit in Photoshop; does it make a nicer image? Other than that, lovely.   Posted: 01/15/2025 21:59:05
