About the Image(s)
I took this image on a very misty day. I liked the way the fence disappeared into the mist.
Details: Nikon Z7ii, f9.0, 1/500, ISO 1000, Nikkor Z 24-120mm f/4S, 56.0mm
Adjustments: Cropped, denoise, levels and curves, increased haze.

Hi Suzanne I love this kind of thing. The treatment of the grasses made me think Wyeth. I thought there was the opportunity to balance the composition noting that the foxgloves (?) on the left are a similar height to the mid-ground posts so a much tighter crop would intensify their presence. And bringing them out more would support that idea.   Posted: 07/05/2026 22:21:27
That's a good suggestion. Thanks Mark.   Posted: 07/06/2026 04:10:11
A beautiful, moody image with a strong leading line created by the fence. The crop and added contrast improve the composition while preserving the peaceful atmosphere. For an even stronger image, consider slightly darkening the upper fog and adding a touch more emphasis to the front fence post to create a clearer focal point.   Posted: 07/06/2026 00:55:27
Thanks very much, Sophia. I'll take a look at that.   Posted: 07/06/2026 04:10:39
Suzanne, I enjoy this type of landscape. The fence is providing a leading line into the fog; what mysteries are being covered by the fog? This is a peaceful, well-observed landscape with strong atmosphere and texture. The fence provides structure, the fog provides mood, and the grasses provide detail. It's a photograph that succeeds through restraint and subtlety. I agree with Sophia's suggestion for adding more emphasis to the front fence post, giving the image an anchor point.   Posted: 07/11/2026 01:11:36

Like the others who have commented, I love this kind of image. It evokes a wonderful mood. The disappearing fence pulls me back into the photograph. Outstanding!
Naturally, I wanted to play with it a bit to see if the mood could be further emphasized. I'm not sure I succeeded. Your thoughts?

Thanks, Pete. I think I'll continue to have a play around with it. I've noticed that with darkening down the sky I can now see some dust spots! Oops!   Posted: 07/11/2026 04:12:59
Magnificent photograph and very good post-processing. The shot truly exudes the dampness of the morning fog. If you have a series of similar shots, a great triptych on the theme of fog could be made :)   Posted: 07/13/2026 07:54:27
Thanks, Natalia. That's a great idea! I do have many other shots :)   Posted: 07/13/2026 23:33:44
