About the Image(s)
I would like to send this photo to November’s round - “Autumn pond” (and the initial file of photo).
I took this photo on one of the small ponds in Saint-Petersburg. The shores of the pond were densely overgrown with bushes and trees. The yellow, red and green autumn leaves on the trees, reflected in the water, highlighted the bright colors of the mallard duck's feathers very well.
The picture has been taken by Canon EOS 600D + Tair11? 135mm f/2.8 + polarizing filter Benro SHD CPL-HD
During post-processing, noise removal and smoothing of small image elements were performed.

A lovely peaceful image Natalia. I agree that the reflections mostly work well here. I feel that the reflections at the top, particularly the red, do draw our eye away from the duck. I think it would be a stronger image without these. Also consider whether you can tone down some of the highlights in the white feathers. I do like the reflections and patterns in the bottom part of the image as I feel these complement the main subject. A well chosen colour palette.   Posted: 11/02/2025 22:51:39
Natalia, this is a wonderful photo of a colorful mallard duck; the reflection in the water of the surrounding trees complements the duck's colors. I agree with Suzanne's comment about the distracting reflections behind the duck. I cropped down from the top to eliminate much of the distraction, and what was left I cloned out. I also did some dodging on the head and touched up the catch-light in the duck's eye.   Posted: 11/06/2025 02:12:10
