About the Image(s)
One more photo about the architecture of St. Petersburg. On this photo a visitor's hall of ordinary post office in St.Petersburg, next to my residential complex. I took the photo on a iPhone when I went to the post office to send a letter.

Hi Natalia, loving the introduction to St Petersburg. Have to say I smiled at the description…it's just your local Post Office. Anyway no suggestions on the image as presented but it did make me want to play with the cropping. Maybe "less is more"?   Posted: 07/04/2025 22:18:42
Mark hi!
Thank you for ideas about cropping!   Posted: 07/08/2025 14:11:12

The abilities of cell phone cameras are amazing! I love the circular patterns of your image. They both pull me into the photograph and simultaneously make me dizzy. Excellent.
I like Mark's first cropping. Removing the doors/stores at the base makes the photograph more of an artistic image than a documentary one.

Oliver, you are right! The first photo with the crop is really interesting :)   Posted: 07/08/2025 14:14:02
Hi Natalia, since I don't see the original or your setting I am not able to give you much feedback. Can you please let us know how you took the photo? Which Iphone do you have? When I take photos of domes I put my phone on selfie mode and put it on the floor directly under the dome. I Agree with Marks cropping and agree with Petes comments.   Posted: 07/06/2025 01:05:17
Hi Sophia!
I took this photo by iPhone 11 Pro with defaulting photo mode '0.5x' of the main (front) sensor. In this mode it takes photo like wide-angle camera.
I didn't set up the shooting mode for a long time. I just composed the frame and took the photo. And in the end I got this result :-)   Posted: 07/08/2025 14:24:34

Natalia, this is a fascinating subject, with its diverse geometric shapes and textures. I thought it might lend itself to a B/W image but I didn't have any results as pleasing as your original. I do like Mark's crops.   Posted: 07/12/2025 21:55:22
