About the Image(s)
The Tufted Titmouse is a small bird that is very cute and active. I like the bird pose and active movement in this photo. In the post-process, I adjusted the contrast and lighting and cleaned up the background!

Xios, I'm amazed that you were able to obtain such a perfect photograph of the Titmouse. Their rapid movement certainly makes it a challenge! Well done! Your Shutter speed was well chosen!
I played with your image in Camera Raw and Photoshop to see if I could further highlight the bird. I also did a bit of cropping. Your thoughts?

I Don't have any experience with this bird but like the tonality of the image as a whole and how it works against the super soft background. I think the head and eye are a little soft and Pete seems to have fixed that in his version (he didn't mention sharpening but maybe he put the image through Toapaz. I would try that. I do like Pete's crop because it balances the image...cropping more off the bottom seems to create the sense of more space at the top. I did notice that you had done a denoise on the image and maybe that took away some of its sharpness? What did you use?   Posted: 05/09/2025 04:48:00
Xiao, welcome to the group! I love bird photography, I have these little birds at my feeder everyday and had them nest and raised a family a couple years ago. I love how they fly in, get their food and then fly out and hide it.The only comment I have is that their chest usually is not as blue. What was the location you photographed it in?I believe when you are saturated and sharpened the blue comes out vs the white in their chest. In Bird photography in my opinion the Lighting, Background, Composition, Pose and Behavior are the most important elements. If it was my photo I would put a bit of catch light in the eye and lighting up the chest.   Posted: 05/12/2025 01:36:57

Xiao,
The vertical composition of the Titmouse while extending its wings is very beautiful. The color saturation and sharpness is spot on, as well. The crop is very nice due to the branch blending with the bird.   Posted: 05/12/2025 17:10:41
