This photo captures a stunning moment during my first experience photographing an air show, featuring the legendary U.S. Navy Blue Angels. This photo effectively captures the power and precision of the Blue Angels in a moment of organized chaos. I spent time studying their flight maneuvers in preparation and made it a goal to capture as many of their formations as possible.
I am considering in submitting this for the monthly competition with the Theme “Action”. Please help me make it a better photo-

I don't really have any suggestions for improving your photograph. However, I thought it might be interesting to play with it a bit. So, I took it into Camera Raw, converted it to B&W, and worked with the lighting. It's a different approach to you wonderful image!

A beautiful image! You caught the moment well!
Because it is white smoking, you can decrease lighting and increase contrast to increase the layers of the image. I made a little adjustment as following.

That is just so good. My thought (because I am so square) is to crop rotate and flip!
BTW its great that you give us images to play with that are way bigger than the 1400. Mine have always bounced back when they are oversize but yours were over 2500. This makes any edits we do way better. What is the trick to getting larger images into the system? Posted: 05/09/2025 05:09:06

The Air Shows are a challenge to capture the right moment for the photo. You couldn't get much better than what you captured. These are dangerous maneuvers for the pilots coming within meters at sonic speeds. I prefer Mark's 90 degree flip, as well. Posted: 05/12/2025 17:20:44
