About the Image(s)
This photo was taken at a Renaissance Faire near Austin, Texas. Although the two combatants were already engaged in battle, I believe the young man had challenged the costumed swordsman. The young combatant was very aggressive in his attacks, but he ultimately lost the battle.
Post-processing: I used the auto setting in LR initially. In PS I used the AI Remove Tool to remove the sign in the foreground and the man with the baby carriage in the background. I then used Topaz Photo AI to denoise and sharpen the final image.
Exposure: 1/1000 @ f/7.1 ISO 2800

Richard, you captured a wonderful moment! I love the intensity of the boy with the sword. And the younger boy in the background watching the "sword fight" further pulls my eyes to the center of interest. Well seen and well captured!
I decided to play with your image to draw even more attention to the eyes of the young sword fighter. In addition to cropping a bit tighter on the right, I modified the lighting. Your thoughts?

Yeah the younger contestant is so intense and it really makes this image. So I like Pete's interpretation throwing all our attention on him. We can't process the other man's sword out of his face but it would be even better if his sword was above the young man's head   Posted: 05/09/2025 05:14:15
Hi Richard, I agree with Petes improvemnts. I wish he had removed the men directly behind the young men. I love the intense face on both young men. Fun photo   Posted: 05/12/2025 01:52:46

Richard,
The scene is exciting because of the concentration of the combatants. One slip of the swords can result in injury. The removal of the distractions were well done. The reverse angle would be nice to focus on the adult actor.   Posted: 05/12/2025 17:24:18
