About the Image(s)
Description: This photo was taken on 3/4/2025 in New York Central Park. There are many birds in New York Central Park in the spring season. A Tufted Titmouse is a very small, very active bird. I like its cute look. In the post-process, I adjusted the lighting and cleaned the background.
Camera: Nikon Z8, Lens: 500mm, Exposure: 1/2500 sec at f/8.0, ISO 1000.
What do you think? I welcome any comments and suggestions. Thanks.

Xiao, welcome to Group 5! I hope you'll find it as enjoyable, rewarding, and educational as I have.
Your image is both lovely and very well done! Small, active birds are a real challenge to photograph. The bird's sharpness and your image's composition are superb. Nicely done!
There's one modification you might consider. The branch at the bottom of the image has a repeating pattern that might draw the viewer's attention away from the bird. You could consider removing it. Here's an example of how it would look.

Hi Xiao, welcome to the group
I think this is a beautiful capture of a delightful small bird. Love the soft background. I thought you could go a step further than Pete's suggestion and get rid of the sticks on the left and then a crop. If you thought that was too tight then expand the canvas to restore some of the negative space.   Posted: 04/14/2025 03:52:48

Xiao Cai, your Tufted Titmouse is absolutely stunning and sharp. You caught him in a perfect pose. I hope you don't mind but I think that some of the branches and sticks like Pete mentioned are distracting. I took the liberty of getting rid of the branches and tried a 180 flip to create a leading line branch. I do know that in PSA Competitions you are not allowed to do this. What do you think?   Posted: 04/18/2025 17:31:08
Welcome to the group Xiao.
What a beautiful image of the bird. I agree with the comments that the there are too may distracting branches. Of the versions suggested I would prefer Mark's and if you decided to flip an image I would again use Mark's.   Posted: 04/21/2025 08:19:10
