About the Image(s)

Every Year for the last 4 years I go to photograph the Cypress trees during the same time. This year I was lucky enough to have a lady on her kayak . It was perfect to tell the story about fall. I cropped the photo from the top, and expanded the bottom so I gave the lady on the kayak a bit more room .. I also adjusted some of the color sliders including the sharpening. Open to all suggestions in making this a better photo.

I love this image. The lady in the kayak is perfect!

Sophia, your cropping is excellent. Removing the sky was exactly the right thing to do. (I Don't know if I would have thought to do that.) Brilliant.

I wanted to play with your photograph to see if I could make the lady/kayak even more prominent. I made a few very subtle adjustments, mostly darkening the base of the trees and slightly modifying the color/saturation behind the woman. Your thoughts? (If you can even tell what I did. It was quite minimal.)

Hi Sophia What a winner!!! Even the original but your edits have improved it. What Pete has done is fairly subtle but either way they are great. Nothing to add here!!   Posted: 01/04/2025 03:45:19

Sophia, I agree this is a real winner! Your original looks like it only needed the cropping, however, between your and Pete's post-processing, it has perfected the image.   Posted: 01/04/2025 17:39:12

This is a beautiful image Sophia. Pete's processing has improved an image that was already a winner. I can't suggest anything to improve it but below are two different takes of the image.   Posted: 01/11/2025 13:54:51

Sophia, to my eyes it is perfect. You kept the focus on the trees and their color. They are the real starts of this photo. I really like your timing for capturing the kayaker with the string of bubbles leaving a trail. This image tells a few stories. Congratulations. I think the state and county wildlife management would be very happy having the image to promote tourism.   Posted: 01/14/2025 16:12:30
