Taken from an upper level of the Eiffel Tower. I have worked a lot to see if I could make something acceptable. As well as cropping and straightening, general exposure settings in Lightroom I took it into Color Efex and applied the foliage filter. I tried to erase the buses, but it just became a hot mess so I gave up on that. I boosted the greens in Lightroom. I lightened the middle of the photo a little. I really liked the storm in the distance.

Vella, great composition from this high vantage point, image is sharp. The modern buildings under the stormy sky adds character to the image. You did a very good job straightening. Good colors.   Posted: 04/02/2026 19:11:12
Vella, to my eye the straightening and more saturated colors in the foreground really make this pop! For me I would take just a bit off the top to bring the horizon to the 2/3rds point and further emphasize the foreground.   Posted: 04/03/2026 17:02:00
Thanks for the idea. I like that idea of cropping and I am going to give it a try.   Posted: 04/03/2026 18:35:41
Hi Vella
If i had a penny for every shot of the Eiffel tower I had seen I would be a very rich man,but wow not seen one like this before taken from the tower and I love it,I love the layering within the image, the foreground low level and so scenic the mid ground denoted with semi circular structure and moving into urban, the background starting with a forested area with the skyscrapers towering towards the fabulous sky.
Absolutely superb image this deserves to do so well in a photo travel competition.   Posted: 04/09/2026 13:17:55

Thank you for your kind words.   Posted: 04/09/2026 14:14:33
Vella, I agree with the others as well. You had a successful clime then produced an unusual image that defines Gay Parie and your PP efforts strengthened this lovely city scape.   Posted: 04/19/2026 00:37:51
