About the Image(s)
I’m back with a ton of new images! After my wife’s passing in August, I was able to attend the PSA Conference in Portland, Oregon. Before the conference, I joined (Erik and Isaac) ??”for five days of photography along the Oregon Coast. After the conference wrapped up, I spent three more days exploring the Palouse region of Washington.
My iPhone got quite a workout on that trip. This month’s image is of an abandoned grain elevator just south of Pullman, Washington. You can’t miss it??”it sits right beside Highway 195. I tried photographing it at sunset a couple of times, but the skies just didn’t cooperate. On my last night, though, the magic finally happened. Before sunset I noticed this cloud formation and maneuvered myself to get the optimum effect. No! I didn't replace the sky
This shot was taken with my iPhone 14 Pro Max using Adobe’s Project Indigo app (which, by the way, doesn’t work yet on my new iPhone 17 Pro Max). I did the initial processing on my flight home with Lightroom Mobile, using the masking tools . Once back at my desktop, I fine-tuned the image with Topaz Photo AI, added a little clarity using the NIK plugin, and finished with a soft vignette and a thin 2-pixel gray border.
