About the Image(s)

How I Did It:
This was taken on Staple Island, which is one of the Farne Islands in the North Sea, just off the coast of North East England. It is a sea bird sanctuary and a local company runs boat trips out to the island. There are puffins, shags, gulls and Arctic terns as well as some other species. The gulls are very aggressive, and wait for the puffins coming back with sand eels for their young, and try to rob them. This gull seemed to be claiming its patch on the rock and screaming its claim to the world.!

Taken on 15th June 2018, the camera was my Lumix G9 with the Lumix 45-200 lens at 200 mm. Exposure was 1/1000 at f/7.1 and ISO 640. Lighting was cloudy bright. Taken into ON1 RAW and adjusted to brighten up the bird and darken the background. Some blur was also applied to the background and dynamic contrast to the bird.

Not my usual sort of image but it was fun at the time.
