About the Image(s)
Another from my river cruise on the Rhine last October. Taken as the ship passed this splendid church on the bank. The sun was shining and the light was great. It can be difficult composing as you go by because you can't go back. You just have to grab the shot as you see it. Camera was my Lumix FZ1000 with the built-in Leica 9-146 lens at 36 mm. Exposure was 1/500 at f/8 and ISO 400. Back home I took it into ON1 RAW and applied basic adjustments plus NoNoise AI which generally improves sharpness as well as killing any noise. Then I applied several local adjustments to darken the sky and brighten the greenery plus controlling the local contrast. I also used a curves layer to brighten up the church, and then added a Sunshine filter which generally just perks up the overall contrast nicely.

I love the way you have handled the contrast between the shade and light areas great detail throughout the whole image the autumn colours just starting to show break up the mass of green church beautifully positioned in the frame a wonderful pastoral landscape which shows the beauty and make up of the area.
I know how difficult it is to get a shot from a moving boat I have a friend who owns a medium sized pleasure craft and he invited me to join him bobbing about the Mersey when the World Clipper race finished on the River boy it was a challenge.   Posted: 04/16/2025 18:37:37
You captured the beautiful clouds that added light to the image, the church provides serenity and the townhouses exhibit good contrasting color.   Posted: 04/17/2025 20:49:05
