Historic Trinity Lutheran Church Panorama by Bill Buchanan, HonPSA, FGDC

February 2025 - Historic Trinity Lutheran Church Panorama

About the Image(s)

Historic Trinity was founded in 1850 by German immigrants. Today’s church was built in 1930. This image is another one of my vertical panoramas created with my iPhone 14 Pro Max in the panorama mode. Sometimes it takes a couple of attempts before you can get it right.

It was processed in Lightroom Mobile. I clicked on the Auto settings, boosted the contrast and added a mask at the altar area to reduce the brightness. My final step was to add a subtle vignette to darken the edges

Bill, another super wide angle/vertical panorama created using an iPhone. What a magnificent photographic machine. My eyes were telling that the roof was a bit off center so I had to convince myself, which indeed it is, so using the magic of photoshop, I fixed it. Very sharp and interesting image. I just wonder what is that sign on the right lower corner that reads PS Express ??   Posted: 02/08/2025 19:51:55

Issac, in my haste to get my image to Gary and having difficulty transmitting through an app Image Size, I finished it in my Photoshop Express app. Upon sending the image I noticed that it put the logo in the lower right corner. Normally I would have finished processing it on my laptop pc.   Posted: 02/16/2025 16:07:23

A very interesting technique to show everything from the floor in the foreground, all the way to the roof immediately above or even behind you. It does take a moment or two to work out what is going on because although we are happy with horizontal panoramas simply by turning our heads, we are not used to vertical ones. You have produced a sharp and detailed record of the internal architecture of this beautiful church. I had not noticed the slight offset that Isaac spotted. I would either crop or clone out that distracting PS Express box.   Posted: 02/10/2025 11:41:01

Bill, I think you meant this as a reply to Isaac.   Posted: 02/16/2025 16:04:32

Bill, a very interesting shot. I love the bright colors from the stained glass and the pattern of the roof panels. As I gaze into it, it reminds me of a child's Kaleidoscope. I was also thinking that it might be very interesting to see something like this printed onto a 3-D surface. Almost "a church turned inside out." Thanks for sharing.   Posted: 02/10/2025 23:59:12

Hi Bill
I am loving your vertical panoramas something so different but the detail you get in these images is amazing and you really do get an idea of size and scale, the lighting is beautifully handled, the swirl of stain glass sweeping around to the window above the altar is priceless for me.
Would so love to see more of your panoramas they fascinate me.   Posted: 02/11/2025 19:46:25

How lucky you are to live in an area of such wonderful architecture. I go to Europe to see these and you have them in your own backyard. It almost looks like a space ship from a sci-fi movie. You have a leading line that leads to a burst of color and light. It is almost like a Rorschach test. Lovely image that should be in a travel brochure.   Posted: 02/15/2025 19:07:32

An unusual image, to say the least, with so many leading lines it would be almost impossible for viewers to miss any content. The color is striking, and for me, your entry per folks a religious mind set. I agree with the others, clone out the sign. As you know, it won't create any problem's submitting in PID. You are a true Master using the cell phone Bill.   Posted: 02/16/2025 14:35:41
