About the Image(s)
Going over my photos archive looking for images with “oblique Lines” which is the assigned topic for my Camera Club February competition, I found this one created in Tokyo a few years ago, and near the famous Shibuya Crossing. This area of Tokyo resembles Time Square in New York. I think it is appropriate, as well as for strong “Leading Lines”
Used a Nikon D5 with The Nikkor lens 20 mm f/1.8 and thse settings: ISO 5000, f/8 and 1/60th sec. The image was PP in LightRoom, some Denoise was applied and slightly cropped and corrected for wide angle distortion.

Vella, the king fisher is in a hunting position and ready to fly towards the fish. I cropped it slightly tighter and removed the blemishes. Gave a little more light to the face/eye area Posted: 02/07/2025 17:53:08

A handsome bird to be sure, Vella. Good head turn, sharp and colorful. The change Isaac completed removed the distraction and provided a stronger image. Posted: 02/07/2025 21:24:25
Vella, great work in post-processing. From the images I found online the blue seems to be correct but to me the orange seems to be overly-saturated. He looks to me to truly have the breast colors of an American Bluebird. None-the-less very striking. Posted: 02/07/2025 22:39:30
Vella, that is some very nice PP to get this picture from the original dark image. I think I prefer your crop over Isaac's because yours gives a bit more space for the bird. However, he was right to remove the the dangling thing because it is not hanging vertically. I can't comment on the colour of the breast feathers. Good sharp shot. Posted: 02/08/2025 11:04:35
