About the Image(s)
How I Did It:
Taken from our river cruise ship as we were preparing to dock at Wurzburg on the River Main. It was early morning and there was still mist and low cloud with the sun breaking through. I liked the scene of the castle on the hill, above the low bank of mist, and with the sunlight beginning to light up the buildings. It was a grab shot as the scene is constantly changing when viewed from a moving boat. You don't get time to recompose if you get it wrong.
Taken on my Lumix FZ1000 Mk 2 at 1/4000 and f/7.1 with ISO 800. Lens was the built-in Leica 9.1-146 (25-400 equivalent) set at 9.1 mm. Back home I opened it in ON1 RAW and darkened the sky, adding some contrast as well. I brightened up the buildings then added a gentle vignette to push the attention towards the centre. Finally I added a little Vibrance to give a little extra life.
I nearly did not make the deadline for this image as I have had computer problems in a big way. I was using Windows 10 quite happily when, two or three weeks ago it decided to update to Windows 11. I did not realise this was happening until it was done. Unfortunately, as I found out later, some of the downloaded files were corrupted with the result that the entire computer failed, including blowing the power supply. The result was a completely fresh install of Windows 11 which meant re-installing most of the software. This was complicated by the fact that the fresh W 11 installation makes my computer appear as a new machine, so the old licences aren't valid.
Just to add to the fun (?) I hurt my back again just after getting back from the river-cruise and I am now on some stronger painkillers which are making me drowsy and very tired.
Oh, I nearly forgot. I have been keeping all my photo records on an Access database and the new re-load of Access can only find half of the records. So if I inadvertently enter a picture I have used previously, please tell me and I will change it.

To my eye this is a superb image quality of being framed and hung on the wall. I feel that your decision to capture the band of fog adds a layer, and more importantly, a "mood" to the image. You got great depth of field out of an f/7.1 setting with everything I can see being sharp. For me the water, the lower houses and the fog lead my eye right to the fixation point of the castle. Very well done!
