About the Image(s)

We call the season “Mad March.”
It is a time when we have street car races, the cycling “Tour Down Under”, the “Adelaide Festival of Arts” and the “Fringe Festival.” All crammed into about six weeks at the end of Summer.
This image, although verging on “street photography”, was taken during the “Fringe Festival at a venue called “Gluttony” and as the name suggests, it is all about food, drink and relaxing.
I like the layering in this image, with the two sideshow performers relaxing on the grass in the foreground, the two bored looking girls (probably sisters) with their drinks sitting above them and then the crowd of people in the background. There is a feeling of calm and good will on this warm summer’s evening.
Tech stuff: Camera: Canon R5 with RF 24-105 f/4L lens at 105mm.

Great image with feeling and cultural representation of the festival. You make things look so natural but trully brilliant in an artistic sense. We are at the end of summer here but later than usual after a prolonged drought...so hopefully it will soon be time for festivals with names like Octoberfest and Halloween.   Posted: 10/08/2026 21:17:48
