About the Image(s)

Went to a local car show in SW Florida this past week with two other fellow photographers.
I like being able to "see" things a bit differently that most others, and I knew there would be lots of reflections in the cars on show. I had lots to choose from, but I liked this one best... The bright yellow of a vintage Corvette reflected in the gloss of an unidentified adjacent black car.
The presented image does not have much alteration from the original. Just a few simple slider-moves in Lightroom controlling the highlights and color levels.
Metadata: Canon 6D MKII with a EF 24-105 f4L IS USM lens at 55mm; 1/50 sec; f11; ISO 2000.

Great concept! The array of strong diagonals is impressive and the reflection of the yellow car makes the story and gives "competition" as being the theme of the image and probably the show itself. The image could do well as a poster design or background, but the front part would need to be de-shadowed slightly I think?   Posted: 12/05/2025 04:14:17

Thanks for your comments, Piers. I appreciate your assessment of the image. I also agree about the need for further editing to bring up the shadows in the front(s). So, on that suggestion....
I created a mask using a brush and "painted" over the yellow (only) in the reflection and lifted the shadows and exposure. Then, I used the color temperature slider to create a lot more yellow. Better? I think so.   Posted: 12/05/2025 15:38:29
