Rufous-collared Kingfisher by Than Sint, MPSA2, SPSA, AFIAP

October 2026 - Rufous-collared Kingfisher

About the Image(s)

I visited the Panti Forest Reserve (Panti Bird Sanctuary) near Kota Tinggi, Johor, Malaysia from September 4th to 6th, where I managed to capture a few small birds as record shots. The Rufous-collared Kingfisher is one of the most famous species in this forest, so we ventured deep into the jungle to spot this tiny bird.

Than, your Kingfisher has excellent visual impact and interest. It is a striking bird and beautifully caught. It is perfectly cropped and has excellent sharpness in critical areas. Background is non distracting. This is a strong composition and I wouldn't change a thing.   Posted: 10/09/2026 12:44:30

Great image. So sharp. Beautiful bird. Here in the US, kingfishers are very hard to photograph. They don't sit still very long, so well done.   Posted: 10/10/2026 21:29:06
