About the Image(s)

While visiting the eastern seaboard last fall, we visited this tourist stop on Prince Edward Island that had a garden along the river. These tassels were about 6 feet tall and waving in the breeze. I thought they were quite beautiful and graceful. I chose to make this into a black and white image because the subject wasn't that dynamic in color. Sony a1, Tamron 28-75, 1/400, f16, iso 320. Post processing was in Lightroom with a little sharpening in Topaz Sharpen AI.

Just for grins, I'm including the color version.

Yes, I agree that ait is a pleasing subject. It is sharp and realistically shown. I wonder what it would be like it you had changed the gray sky to black. This might be easy to do when converting to monochrome since the sky was the only glue part of the image.   Posted: 04/04/2026 21:27:00

They are soft and beautiful and B&W seals the deal!   Posted: 04/12/2026 23:15:37

B&W really makes it. I've photographed these before and they don't cut it in color usually. Nice move!   Posted: 04/14/2026 17:57:44

I agree that this is great as a monochrome. It has more contrast showing off the grass than the color version.   Posted: 04/15/2026 22:39:56
