This photo is from a recent trip to Norway. More remote stops did not have a pier large enough for our ship so the only way ashore was via zodiac.
The jacket colors / life vests added color on a grey day. The ship added context. Intrepid adventurers going ashore.

Sharon, your image certainly gives the viewer an emotional reaction that it is cold, cold, cold! The lighting accentuates the story. This is an excellent composition and well framed. I would like to see that cut off ice flow in the lower right gone but it does help with the story. Very interesting. Posted: 12/06/2025 13:26:27
I think this image didn't load right. The foreground is black and all I see are the heads of the zodiac group. But, from what I can see, the image does convey the cold conditions. Thinking about doing a similar cruise. What cruise line were you on? Posted: 12/12/2025 22:48:00

The cold is almost felt from the image with the ice in the foreground. The color of the jackets of the passengers adds a lot as does the fact that most are facing the camera. The ship is necessary for the story. The floating bergs help also. Nice capture. Posted: 12/12/2025 23:13:30

I notice the composition filled with the icy foreground, a bit of ice dispersed in the sea, the ship far away from the seashore and the zodiac with a bunch of travelers (might be tourists). The story may be traveling in the winter by ship. Posted: 12/18/2025 01:42:06
This tells the story and the one word caption nails it. Just enough color to add interest but not confusion. Did you jump off the boat early too grab the shot or is this boat different from the one you arrived on? Posted: 12/18/2025 14:09:11
