The first hike of the year and not the best day for photography, hazy, overcast. Though no smoke. Mt.Baker didn’t seem that interesting too me as I’ve taken hundreds of photos of it. So Decided too break the picture up in 1/3’s . 1/3 is the ridge I’m standing on, High Divide. Then next is the foothills. Followed with Mt.Baker. I like the clear close 1/3 and probably what I should have been paying attention for choices in shots, flowers etc. Close subjects. Anyway that is what I saw on that day.

I understand what you are getting at. The "thirds" do show and there is some detail in the darkest area and the whites. A tough challenge to keep it all together.   Posted: 07/18/2025 10:57:58
You've actually got fourths if you include the sky (just to make it more complicated). A shot like this is hard, no question, and you did it well.

Good rendition of the scene. Gives a sense of the grandeur of the area. As Sharon said, the clouds add one more layer. Well done and one wouldn't know that the conditions were less than ideal.   Posted: 07/21/2025 21:08:39
