Simply Two Pears by Sol Blechman

March 2025 - Simply Two Pears

About the Image(s)

A scanned Image. I just wanted to get back to this routine after not using it for a long while. It really opens a way of thinking about images.

I'm not sure just what you did here. Did you scan an image or make the image by placing the pears on the scanner? either way, you have good sharpness throughout. It might have been difficult but an odd number of subjects might have been an idea if you had room for them.   Posted: 03/17/2025 07:22:37

The pears are directly on the scanner. With the top of the scanner all the way up the background goes black. It was done awhile back but I think I must have selected the background and solidified the blacks.   Posted: 03/29/2025 13:50:34

I'm surprised by the depth of field. I need to tuck this away in a dark corned of my brain so I can remember to try with when I find a subject that might be interesting for this.   Posted: 03/29/2025 16:33:07

Two Pairs! Thoughts on the title. Three pairs might have been confusing.
Well done and excellent use of the scanner. I might have to try that.   Posted: 03/21/2025 22:31:55

It is very clear and sharp. My understanding is a pair of pears in one ripping and one green. It looks like a 3D image.   Posted: 03/25/2025 08:18:10

The black background is great. It emphasizes the color of the pears which are nice and sharp.   Posted: 03/27/2025 12:49:25

What a cool technique! I like it. Very modern still life feel. I might have reduces the amount of background a little, but it still works.   Posted: 03/30/2025 23:25:34
