This bald eagle has an intense look on its face as it flew through the trees of the Great Bear Rainforest. I was in a Zodiak boat, so stability was a bit challenging, but happy to get an image of one of these great birds in flight instead of just sitting on a limb. Sony a1, Tamron 70-180 2.8 lens, 1/800 at f 8, iso 1000. I love this lens. While is doesn't have the reach of my bigger lenses, I can hand hold it and it is fast and agile (which I am not).

Nice shot. I've never gotten a bald eagle on the wing. I sometimes use Topaz AI to sharpen stuff more but you've got it sharp enough for a good shot. Posted: 02/12/2025 17:17:13

You've got great sharpness. I notice that the Sony A1 will focus on the bird's eye. I might suggest opening up the lens more to throw the background out of focus since you don't need to worry about where the camera is focusing. Posted: 02/17/2025 19:43:23
Nice capture of a bird in flight. The background is a bit disturbing. Perhaps it could be selected, blurred and darkened. I'm surprised you could stop the motion at 1/800th. Posted: 02/19/2025 19:29:02
