About the Image(s)
While I have several images of egrets flying and caught in beautiful positions, this is the first time I caught one with spread wings. Also, it's in an interesting environment, I think. The processing was in Camera Raw to bring back some detail in the whites and darken the background at the same time.

What an interesting image. A rare capture. The contrast of the white against the dark background accentuates the wing span.   Posted: 01/12/2025 21:19:54

What a catch! They are so hard to photograph because they sit still and the take off just as you are ready to push the shutter. Really sharp. I agree with Neal that the dark background helps accentuate the egret. Maybe try cropping the top row of plants, but it may make is too crowded.   Posted: 01/13/2025 19:15:46

I've never seen an egret with wings outstretched. You did an excellent job on the wings. I keep looking at the top of the wing particularly. You can almost see every part of the bone and muscle the bird has there. You could crop a bit of the upper background or blur it more.   Posted: 01/15/2025 18:13:04
