About the Image(s)
While visiting the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge over Thanksgiving, we came upon this coyote that was intensely hunting along the wetlands. While I didn't get the catch, it was successful. The intensity of its concentration is so impressive. We were there at dusk, so the light was pretty low. Sony a1, Sony 100-400 lens, 1/1600, f 7.1, iso 12,800. Post processing in Lightroom with Denoise due to the high ISO and some adjustment of exposure and a little sharpening in LR.

Wow, quite a capture. The intensity of the expression of the coyote really makes the image interesting. It isn't quite as sharp as I would like to see it but in wildlife photography you can't ask for everything.   Posted: 01/12/2025 21:16:58

Agree about the sharpness. It was dusk and you have to stay in your car. Challenges. :)   Posted: 01/13/2025 19:05:46

Definitely at the right place at the right time. Though I would underexpose the for and background abit as the brightness competes with the coyote. Good shot!   Posted: 01/14/2025 02:00:36

In a perfect world, it should be sharper. But from a car shooting possibly through the window, it's a good job. I'd play with the brightness of the surroundings, probably darken it a bit.   Posted: 01/15/2025 18:20:29

The coyote does look so determined and intense. Sharp eyeballs help. Nicely done.   Posted: 01/19/2025 00:04:28
