About the Image(s)

I found this plant while walking on a trail in Southwest Pennsylvania. I'm not sure what it is, and even though it doesn't look like it, it is definitely some sort of fungus. I consulted with a few botanists and it was concluded that it may be a Twig Parachute Mushroom in its dying stages. Basically, the shot is straight out of the camera. I lightened the image and added some more light for the finished picture.

Wow! You did a great job pulling that 'shroom out of the dark blur. It may be in dying stages but it looks like a crisp bloom of an exotic plant. The light adjustments you made show it at its best.   Posted: 07/10/2021 12:52:30

Hi Tom,

I believe you just found a good reason to carry a small flashlight and a handkerchief (for a diffuser) in your bag. Really great composition, and color. Terrific processing.   Posted: 07/18/2021 19:27:27
