How the Cookie Crumbles by Pat Glenn

May 2023 - How the Cookie Crumbles

About the Image(s)

I spent all morning photography flowers trying to get a "pretty picture” but it just was not looking right as a macro for this type of flower/leaves. Then I baked myself a cookie… and in the middle of eating Ii thought “Why not the cookie”. So back to my favorite … the everyday mundane subject.

Nikon D750, Nikon Micro 105mm, near 1:-1:2x , tripod, natural light [overcast day].
ISO 100, 1/15, f20, cropped square [to get rid of extra white cloth edges]. Focus on the crumbles

Well done, Pat. The mundane isn't mundane when put into a good photo :-)

Great image, Pat! It is perfect in its simplicity! The lighting and square crop work well, and where you've placed the sharpness also works very well for this image. I wouldn't change a thing about it! Very artistic!   Posted: 05/16/2023 20:44:51

Hi Pat, I also like your image - reminds us of the beauty around us constantly. Many times we rush too much to appreciate simple things. I like how you focused on the crumbs, so the eye goes there first, and then processes the origin of the detail.   Posted: 05/23/2023 16:58:49

Perfect title, Pat! The cookie in the background really sets the context for image.   Posted: 05/27/2023 11:46:08
