I am new to the macro/micro lens and this photo is my first set of macros taken. This flower was in a garden you can only lean over fencing - no tripod. I was trying to elicit the beauty of the petals and color and in the final photo. Besides the macro lens, I cropped in and liked the asymmetrical placing of the cropping. “In focus” are a few petals at the top and also parts at the bottom - I was not trying to put that center seed portion in focus - it was the petal I am literally focusing on.

Just gorgeous Perfectly sharp center which is the key in this case, surrounded by sharp leaves all around.   Posted: 10/03/2021 08:51:53

Everything works so well together in this image, and technically, it is superb. The lighting is stunning, in addition to the combination of colors. Makes me feel like fall leaves and pumpkin pie! Great image!   Posted: 10/04/2021 12:59:39

Hi Pat,
Welcome to our group!
You've taken a very nice flower photo.I'd agree with Carol's comments, except for the pumpkin pie (an unknown dish over here!)
I would comment about the unsharp tips of the closer petals as on Carol's. As there's only a little unsharp, it looks like a mistake rather than an artistic intention. Sorry if I'm wrong!   Posted: 10/04/2021 14:22:18

If you haven't had Pumpkin Pie, you are really missing a treat! It is a traditional dish at this time of year.   Posted: 10/11/2021 12:48:28
