About the Image(s)
A Western Scrub-Jay outside my window on a snowy morning.
Canon EOS 77D, 1/250, f/8, ISO 400, 300mm. I am lucky to
have such great birds where I live in the CO foothills.

Somehow "Intent" got translated as INtenet, not sure how that happened. I notice others give a lot more info on their pix. I generally forget what I have done, but I'll try to pay more attention.   Posted: 06/09/2022 11:40:00
Lovely shot, i love the focus and intent of the bird.   Posted: 06/10/2022 10:43:59
Good photo. Have you considered using post processing to decrease exposure just a tad.   Posted: 06/10/2022 11:42:44
Because it is a bright snow background I have already lowered the exposure a lot. That's also why I added a vignette.   Posted: 06/10/2022 16:10:10
I like the bird's expression that you caught. Nice details on the texture of the feathers.   Posted: 06/11/2022 16:10:27
Hi Leslie,
Welcome to the group. I really like the details in the photo of the Scrub Jay. The blue really stands out in the Snow White background. I also like the expression of the jay. I wonder what you think if you removed the stick on the right? Great Photo!   Posted: 06/13/2022 11:08:48

I did think about that, and was too lazy to do it. You are probably right, it should be removed. If I plan to do anything with the photo other than show it to the group, I will take it out.   Posted: 06/13/2022 11:33:00
Can't add too much that hasn't already been said.
As good as this is, would have been even better to capture the bird where at least one eye was totally unobscured, IMO.   Posted: 06/14/2022 14:12:32

We also have Scrub Jays in Florida, and I've yet to make a trip to one of the parks to get images. But it is on my list for sometime this year.
I happen to really love the bird's posture and focus. The image is interesting and thought provoking! You have to wonder what he was intent on. Nice image! The Title was probably a mistake on my part.... I'm a terrible typist. I have corrected. A high key because of the snow but you made it work well. . Did you actually take this through a window? If so I give you credit for having clean enough windows to take pictures through! I'd add a smily face but the website does funny things to unexpected characters.   Posted: 06/18/2022 20:47:37

Luckily the camera ignores close dirty windows. My theory for leaving the windows unwashed is to let the birds see them and prevent window splats. Don't know how effective this theory is but it gives me an excuse not to wash windows. Smiley face back to you!   Posted: 06/19/2022 12:27:27
