About the Image(s)

Royal Tern courtship: This photo was taken at Tybee beach, GA. The beach was a habitat for a colony of Terns. Some Terns were bringing in fish from the ocean as the others were waiting flapping their wings doing a little dance as the one with fish came along. The original photo was cropped, the shadows and highlights were adjusted and passed through Topaz sharpening.

Nikon D500: 500mm, ISO 220, 1/2000 s, f/9

These terns are lovely. Their orange bills so attractive. Odd numbers are always preferable and separating the subjects (except for the wing touches) makes for good composition. The fish is a big plus. Your title could make the photo more understandable...like "Courting Royal Terns" or some such.   Posted: 06/09/2022 11:48:35

The depth of field you captured is great, particularly at f/9. And, the photo tells a story. Good job.   Posted: 06/10/2022 11:32:20

I love the expression on the face of the fish. I might try cropping it a bit closer to see more of the fish. Just like the bird, you too got a very nice capture.   Posted: 06/11/2022 15:58:57

Good job catching these three birds together with the fish in the mouth of the middle one!   Posted: 06/14/2022 14:00:24
