About the Image(s)

American White Pelicans were feeding in small lagoon, with an occasional fly in. Made for good “birds in flight” practice. I am opting more and more to not use the 1.4X, but rather crop in post processing to preserve details through lower ISO, etc. Weather: sunny and mild.
Date photo made: December 19, 2021
Location: Riparian Preserve, Gilbert, Arizona, USA

Camera: Sony a7Riii, monopod assisted
Lens: Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS
Lens length: 600mm
Shutter speed: 1/3200
Apperture: f/8.0
ISO: 1250

Post Processing: Lightroom with Topaz Sharpen plugin
Moderately cropped, slight development adjustments

You did a great job of catching the critical moment! Well done!

IMO, I'd crop a little looser on the right side of the photo so that there is more open space in the direction that the Pelican is moving.   Posted: 01/16/2022 09:42:22

He is beautiful. Isn't it great to get a moment in time that is so special! Love the feet on this one. He is crisp and well exposed. The action is great. Just a really nice capture!   Posted: 01/20/2022 15:13:15
