About the Image(s)

This was taken at one of our local wetlands early one morning as I was getting ready togo home. This Red Shouldered Hawk was hunting and I stalked him through the wetlands to try and get an action shot. Of course he chose the most difficult background to decided to descend (the nature center attached to the wetlands), but the action shot was just too good to pass up. He was going in for a grab deep within the grasses. I managed to get the action and had to severely crop to minimize the background. I also used a brush in LR to darken the building as much as possible, but still loved this shot of the hawk. This was before the new LR came out, so I need to see if I can mask it out.......more to come.

Sherry,
Beautiful photo of the red shouldered hawk in action. I like the composition with the claws of the bird and the wings along the diagonal. The building is a distraction but by darkening it you should be able to really enhance the photo.   Posted: 11/11/2021 13:20:41

I agree with Sarita. The new LR select subject and invert mask should make it easy to darken the background. I love this bird photo.   Posted: 11/24/2021 10:16:20
